I cook and bake with the same simplicity... most of the time. I plan to make this channel all about our move and transition to life and living in Alaska coming JUNE 2024! Ice skating | Alaska | First time EVER!
Well, I have never in my life put on or attempted the thought of ice skating. But since we live in Alaska now, when in Rome! When you start a new life 5000 miles away from home, try new things and enjoy the change of a whole new lifestyle. We went on December 25th the check out a lagoon called Westchester Lagoon, and for the first time seeing just an entire community and city either walk out of their houses or park down the streets and just throw some Ice skates on and take loops around the lagoon for hours on end. It is something that just changed my perspective on communitive life. So we decided to buy some skates and give it a go, being its something we will be able to do in the winter as I spend my remaining days in Alaska.

Layman’s is the best store on earth.
Love it dude!
I've been using nitrogen hardened cast iron for the past few yrs and truly, you do not need to oil it after use. Just wash/dry and ready to be stored. I don't understand why this has not become standard for all cast iron cookware. They are great and very affordable. Lehman need to make more skillet/pan many more different sizes with this process.
My nitride wok became my favorite pot and pan in several uses so easy to clean too.
What are your shows SHOWING THE PUBLIC
A bit confused by your comment?
How cold is it during the day?
It will be 14F/18F tomorrow
YAY, Lehmans Hardware! We're here in central Ohio and it's an easy trip to Lehmans. Unique and hard to get stuff? It's here.
Very nifty. I was disappointed however when I found out it was made in China and simply marketed by the Amish, while being sold at a made in USA price tag.
It’s a great lantern but I get what you mean, so many products are made in China these days.
This was a useful unboxing and look at the axe. Frankly, the best part is when you showed us a dead on view of the overhead profile, which is the most useful view and something virtually every single axe maker just will not ever show. Thats the whole reason I want this axe is that wedge shape but iys hard to tell how thick it actually is from the website. Thank you. Ps. The palm swell looks different frombthe allagash cruiser, and I think I would prefer the lumberman, if the steel and all else is the same.
Yeah I know it's a little hard to tell in the photos!
Where is the Rayo Lantern Made?
sadly china
When I saw you scraping the bottom of the pan while it was hot. Shake my head. Anyone who’s experienced in cast iron knows you cook the pan BEFORE scraping. The water method is acceptable.
i believe the hardness of it wont really affect it...
@@AlaskanrefugeDon't listen to them, I've seen dozens and dozens of hours of cast iron videos, never heard that advice before. Truth is it's an incredibly sturdy piece of metal and it's not nearly as finicky as some people would have you believe. Just cook on it and it'll be just fine.
Can I use other pots or pans with this?
Trying to avoid non-stick and teflon
I wouldn't, not that many BTU's id stick with the recommended
Thank you for the wonderful video, seven years later it it is still relavent and helpful. I needed a carry arround lens and this lens was dubbed the "Streetsweeper"in the 90's by journalists, , according to KenRockwell's website. The price is unbeatable and for me I got to use what I can afford. You are right who wants a sharp image all the time? I would rather get a creative picture and have a lens that will adapt to different focal lens on the fly. I just ordered one online. Will get it in two days. These are the secret lenses, underappreciated, secret weapons, still affordable. Thanks!
He is right . My Chinese made Nitrogen hardened wok is so strong and rust resistant. Everytime I finish cooking, I just wash it, wipe it dry and just leave it there without any issue at all
Amazing
This is awesome!
So I could eat them with my dog
I just buy a dollar tree push mop with reusable pads and fill a spray bottle with pinesol, cheap, effective, smells great!
the condiment bottle is $0.68, the push mop, pads, spray bottle and chemicals you're already climbing to $6+. I keep my old mop and the $0.68 bottle. Way cheaper in the long run keeping the old mop.
@@Alaskanrefuge oh no, I'm not talking like after buying the Swiffer, I'm talking about now having bought one at all.
Ohhh, I just meant instead of buying a new mop. But I also use it for cleaning around the house.
Promo`SM 😏
What? lol.
Thanks for the heads-up on the skillet ! Hope you get one myself at some point.
I LOVE IT, SOOOO LIGHT!!!
Nice! I modified a Dietz Jupiter 2500 into a cooker. One trick I learned was wrapping aluminum foil around the globe to increase heat going up through the chimney. Any cooking videos yet?
What should I try a STEAK?
@@Alaskanrefuge why not. I’ve cooked raw hamburger. Think of it as a slow cooker. Keep a lid on the pot.
Very interesting treatment for a cast iron skillet! Lodge is making the skillet, do they also apply the Nitrogen hardening?
its in the process, but ive ended up loving the skillet! so light!!!
What other kind of things you make???? Very interested
I can make anything! donuts coming soon!
would rather have wood particles than plastic particles in my food. ppl should not use plastic utensils with CI
very true but after a few seasoning its holding up well to not sanding to wood
why? you got microplastics in your body already. Might as well fill it up asap
I mean, 200 is pretty much hot enough to cook anything
right!
Another thing is you'd probably be using this inside some sort of shelter. This is beneficial in a couple ways. 1) it will cook faster 2) it will actually provide radiant warmth. I came here because I always wanted one, and just remembered and looked them up on eBay and Amazon. I'm surprised how cheap they are! And seem to me like they work great, so thanks for your videos on these. You just earned a new sub
a good little machine to warm light and feed the family. I remember seeing a setuo from pioneer days where all the heat from an Aladdin lamp was channeled into a wooden barrel oven and it would cook 30 lbs of food in a day . The setup took all day like a modern slow cooker
That’s so cool
Can we get a full boil test please
I can put it on my tiktok?
I posted one for you
I work with this lens often. Another great aspect is that it’s focal range with DX cameras is also useful. The lens focuses fast! Plus after ten feet you don’t have to worry about focusing at all !
I have one copy to sell
You may have the D lens version but I have the Non D version Nikkor 24~120 AF Zoom, as I tested with both film, and digital, and found that it is sharp lens... As I have the Nikon F100, and then got the Fuji S5Pro, and Nikon D2Xs, as all models had no problem in focusing.... As I also did manual focusing that it too was sharp... And Final Quote I will NEVER SHOP At Amazon. Due to Amazon will not check through Debit/Credit Card Security.... Screw Them
Where’s the carb rebuild video to follow up?
What spray paint did you use for the whole gun
I know this video is old, but haven't you heard of the Nikon HB-11? It's the lens hood designed for this specific 24-120 lens to minimize lens flare. Filters won't do much to prevent lens flare, that's the job of the lens hood. Then again, I might just be stupid and talking nonsense. You decide.
super long response but i was meaning when you are wanting lens flare
Work begins at 3:59 mark. Carb removal at 12:55. You have to turn that music off. Good video!
Hell, good day, can I ask if you had any issues with focusing at a focal length of 70mm-120mm in using this lens? We had issues with ours, at focal lengths beyond 50mm, the lens cannot acquire focus, asking to know if this is really inherit with the lens, or our copy of the lens is damaged. Thank you, God Bless
did you figure out the issue, i'm interested in this lens as well
@@hlash99 hello it turned out that the lens I had was in fact faulty or damaged considering it was second hand when I got it, I got it repaired to a repair shop and it worked fine now with no issues
@@stephencarlm.calatrava8877 thanks for the quick reply, reassuring it wasn't inherent. are you happy with the lens overall?
@@hlash99 it was ok, but I don't have it anymore, found out also that the 24mm in the widest end was too restrictive for my use case ang wanted zoom lenses that had wider focal lengths at its widest end like 18mm
@@stephencarlm.calatrava8877 ah gotcha, thanks
WHY ON THOSE MOTORS DO PEOPLE HAVE TO MARK THE CARBS THE BRACES TELL YOU WERE THEY GO / AND ALSO ON MINE THEY ARE NUMBERED ON THE SIDE . JS
I despise subscriptions
Just buy carburetor for a 25hp lawnmower motor from Amazon $14 bucks a carb works like a charm ho! That be for the older 2 stroke 50hp Mercury. With 2 carbs stacked one on top and one on the bottom 👍
man that was a weird vibe, towards the middle the mood seems to be about to turn into nightmare ... the intense look the huge smile now gone and the music getting mysterious and then ... back to initial mood. was it intentional ? I wish it was a bit longer and that you reveled where this is going you should slack the gaming and grab your camera more often cheers
Oh boy to try and answer this, I believe the silent story was (she thought someone was going to propose and then it was NOT happening and then finally did.
hey nearly 6 years after you posted this I'm seeing it for the first time... I totally love the mood set by your shots and editing made me feel like I wish I was there, I hope you are as happy as you look on the footage thanks for sharing Cheers
two years after you posted this I've seen it and we are here full time now. thank you so much for your comment
@@Alaskanrefuge Nice! I'm glad to hear that. By the way, I ended up buying this lens for my cannon 70D ... that I mostly now use with an adapter on my GH4 and I love it. Cheers folks!
I have the same Merc. Rebuilt the carbs but now I need to sync the 3 carbs. Can you help? I read 1 1/2 turns counter clockwise. then adjust accordingly when on a load in the water. Any pointers please???
Thank you
Part 2?
WHAT IS THAT PART CALLED THAT HAD THE HEX NUT/ INSTEED OF PHILLP /AIR BOX
Four stroke bro if oil on motor right seperate from gas
Nope 2 stroke
🤣 oil injection 2 stroke
Me in Australia
As an owner of an actual AK (Type-56-1 to be exact) i can easily point out some major flaws, but if you are on a real tight budget and can't afford to spend a cent more.. then i guess this will do
What cause the carbs to leak after rebuild do that motor have a gas regulator on it
